First trip in the books - Tranny question.

I ignore the gauge on the instrument panel of my F-150, instead I look at the on-screen display, and I've never seen it higher than 95*C (203*F) while towing. Usually it's around 90*C (194*F), give or take. Truck is bone stock, and I always tow with tow/haul mode turned on. If I see the transmission hunting, then I lock out the higher gear. It may give me worse gas mileage, but I'd rather pay $20 more in gas than $2000 for a new transmission.

Thanks for the advice. Just got back today from a weekend trip. I used my tow/haul mode and the tranny was much cooler. Ran around 195-198 except for when I hit traffic in Hartford. Got up to 203. Other than that, she ran cool at 65 mph.
