Hanging Clothes

I have a Jayco Redhawk 24B with a large wardrobe at the back, which I love, but the hanging clothes tend to jump off the clothing rod when in transit. I guess there is more bounce toward the back and the roads are sometimes too rough (even on the Interstate)!

Does anyone have any good suggestions to keep the clothes from falling?

We don't have the problem in our Seneca, but did on our prior motorhome. I took a chunk of closed cell foam and trimmed it into a wedge shape. I stuffed that wedge on the top of the hangers on the clothes rod. Worked great for years until the kids used it as float in the lake - it blew across the lake one windy day.

There are hangers you can get that will go all the way around the rod. You could also use a bungee cord and either bungee bunches of hangers together (a bigger bundle of clothes will be less likely to jump off the rod), or use it to hold the hangers down onto the rod.

If you're using wire hangers, you could bend the "hook" part tighter around the rod, and that might help.

Seems like a modified pool noodle would fit the bill.

Agreed.

It's funny how useful those things are!! I just cut one to fit in my microwave to keep the rotating plate in place. Made a HUGE difference. Super easy, super convenient, and super effective! And SUPER cheap since I just used an old noodle that had been hanging around my garage for a couple years!

Ours jumped off the rod until we got a piece of pipe insulation. We put it over the rod and it keeps the hangers on much better than before. cost about 2 bucks.

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll try a few and see what works best. Will probably start with pool noodles since I always keep a few on hand to keep from bonking my head on the slide out!
