Help, Very Wet Ceiling!
Morning all,
Camping right now in extremely humid weather; Houston Texas area. Probably 90%+ humidity. We have a 2020RSOK and only the air duct in the bathroom has condensation normally around the air duct, now the whole bathroom ceiling and running down the walls!!
I remember reading this issue before but cannot find the link. Can someone tell me what I need to do or pass along the link?? I am really afraid about condensation on top of the ceiling between the ceiling and the roof.

I might add, the air conditioner is sending tons of water off the roof outside and onto the ground as expected.

I’d be running a fan in that room and for that matter multiple fans throughout the whole camper to keep air movement going. Then I’d invest in a nice dehumidifier if your going to be in that environment often. You don’t want that moisture behind the walls and ceiling slowly making black mold.

Mold is the thing that went through my mind! I just removed the vent around the air conditioner hole in there. I noticed a finger hole through the silver duct tape. I don’t have any right now, but I put a bunch of electrical tape around it. I removed the piece of trim for the ceiling fan that goes between the ceiling and the roof. Maybe 10” tall and felt around the back/topside of the ceiling. No moisture or wetness up there...thank goodness! I think we’ll go out and get a small little fan and keep in there.
Not the first time I noticed it. I just thought it was from the hanging towels. Guess that’s partly right.

Pull the vent and make sure the duct is sealed where it meets the ceiling. You probably have cold air leaking into the roof.

We had the same issue, not as bad, when we were camping in Florida in very humid and hot conditions. The sun beating down on the roof and the high humidity combined with our cold AC inside made it a wet mess around the vents. Fans made a big difference moving the air around.

The duct is sealed. There’s about 1.5” between ceiling inside the bathroom to the ductwork. It’s all sealed with the exception of the finger hole! I think cold air was going in the hole the leads into the airspace between roof and ceiling. It’s plugged temporarily till I get home and replace my electrical tape with real silver / aluminum foiled duct tape.

To me it sounds like an air keak5in the duct.
By chance do you have a laser thermometer? If so, shot the ceiling in a variety of areas, to see if the ceiling is much colder in that area.
Another thought. If the bathroom has it's own vent, maybe with the door closed, it is just to cold, moisture is condensing. But would expect it would be condensing on everything in that case.

Our bathroom would get lots of condensation if I left the vent open.

I think I fixed it! So, I covered up the finger hole temporarily and put my wife’s little fan in there. No more condensation!!! WooooHoooo! Man, this has been the easiest fix I’ve done. Oops, shouldn’t have said that. Now I just jinxed myself!
