Jayco 2 yr. warranty not transferable

Several owners trying to sell their 2010 or 2011 Jayco's tell me warranty is transferable...but current brochures says....original owner only..and not transferable.

Looking for official factory response to my question...as I have reliable source which says they used to be transferable for $100 fee. If that is the case.....what is the purchase cut off date for warranty to transfer?

The day we took posession of our 2010 TT, the owner of our dealership had specifically told me that two year warranty will not transfer to a second owner. This was Sept '09. I'm not sure if that would be when they changed the "rule" on that, but I do know at one point the warranty would transfer. If you are buying a "new" Jayco still under original owner warranty, do your own "pdi" and ask that the current owner take it down to the dealer for warranty work you notice. It wouldn't hurt to contact Jayco directly to verify your questions.

Another thing to consider, give Jayco the VIN# of the Jayco you are considering purchasing and see if they will give you the name of the original owner (which may be the only name in their warranty records) and it doesn't match the name of the guy/gal selling it now. That could indicate the owner themselves could be the second owners already and are having some kind of troubles with the tt. Probably not, just a story a fellow camper shared with us once.

That is my understanding as well. I purchased a 2009 that was only a few months old -- saved a bunch, but knew I was not getting the full warranty. I was able to negotiate for the dealer to cover the major appliances for the remainder of the warranty period.

This surprises me. I don't see this effecting me as I tend to keep my stuff till they wear out. One example is our 2003 Corolla which has 640 thousand kilometers on it. It still runs and doesn't owe us anything.
I guess this is a money saving procedure that Jayco uses. When I bought my Silverado it still had a year and a half warranty left on it. I suspect I was partially responsible for them going under.:hihi:
During tough times I can see a company doing something like this to save money. I'd rather see them do this than cheapen their product by cutting corners on production. I get a sense from reading numerous posts that the QC is not what it use to be. As far as our trailer goes, Jayco has done a pretty good job, although there ate several smaller issues that were either overlooked
I can't help but think that they were noticed but decided to purposely have it left that way to see if the customer would have it picked up on warranty.

Most things you buy with a warranty are usually for the original purchaser. Some companies will carry a warranty over for a fee. The best warranty people seem to be the automobile companies.

2011 Eagle 330RLTS with just about every option.
2017 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3 with tow package.

I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.
