Lots of new campers

Last few outings I’ve started taking note of how many units were new (paper plates) or nearly so (chalk inventory number, hanging info tags, no signs of wear . . .). LOTS!
That said, on 2 of our last 3 outings a TT had an awning damaged by unexpected thunderstorms. Both were brand new campers.

The school of hard knocks is a tough mistress.

We have seen a number of new rigs, but have not counted.

Most of the places we go, there is a lot of distance between sites and lots of trees. But not always. We have been known to turn our chairs on a Friday night and watch the show. We were at one state park in SW MN this spring. I swear virtually no one could backup.

I can spot a new RV'er a mile away. Our last trip, a couple pulled an older Cedar Creek 5'er next to us. The way they did things setting up triggered it. Stuff like, putting the stairs down before leveling the rig. No support under the sewer hose. Just little things that seasoned campers are efficient and prepared for. But it's all a learning curve as it was with everybody. They'll get it. We've been camping since I was knee high to a grasshopper but probably look like newbies with a new rig. That is, until we start our methodic setup. It can be obvious. lol

What we noticed is when they get the rig pulled in, out come the cardboard boxes with hoses, tables, rugs, etc. that just have newbie all over it. Even small appliances. Makes for a good first fire.
I don't remember being so obvious but then I don't remember a lot these days!

"Daddy, the potty stinks really really bad!"

One quart of Thetford Holding Tank Treatment for a 30 pack of Labatt's Blue. Yep, I'd say that was a good trade.
