Portable Ice Makers

This upcoming camping season I want to go with a portable Ice maker. I mainly want a reasonable priced unit which I can use for frozen drinks and to keep my beer cooler topped off with ice. Does anyone have a favorite which works well and can keep the cooler cold?

I wasn't able to find that on the Walmart website, is this one it? Your 5er is probably closed up for the winter, but do you happen to have a picture of how it's mounted? Ultimately, I would want to have the maker off the counter to save on counter space.

We got one from Camping World on sale for $170. It is just like the one from Walmart but stainless. It works great!! Keeps the cooler full of ice and has some on store for drinks too!

Nylyon yes that is the one I have. No I don't have any pics. But as I said it is in the front storage bin. I ran a hydro line and a waterline up there as well so I never have to move it.

The one from camping world doesn't need water lines. You just dump the water in and it makes the ice. If the ice melts it makes it again. We leave it outside on a table beside the door and cover it with a tarp if it's too windy for the awning.

I bought an Emerson portable ice maker at Target 5 years ago for $109 on sale. It has served us well. Many of the folks in my camping club have the same machine. It's a great value.

We got ours for $100. It is an igloo brand and woks great. We use it all the time when we camp. It makes and keeps ice longer as you use it over your trip. Once it cools down ice just keeps on coming out. We have the ice maker our friends have the margarita maker.

I don't need a waterline for mine. I just ran one up there so I don't have to fill it with a pail.
