Regarding cassette cavity

Found a small spring at the bottom of the cavity after removing cassette, any ideas as to where this belongs?

Cassette?? As in stereo audio tape cassette?? If so, here's a wild guess as it's nearly impossible to know without looking at the unit.... It holds the flap closed. If it still works I wouldn't worry about it.
