Retire

This January my wife and I plus three English Setters will be camping in Florida for a month.
We have a 17’ expandable trailer. We went from Pa. to California and back in 4 weeks. To hard on Mom and my dogs. Now we will take our time and relax.
We are going to stay on the west side of Florida.
Any help looking for a nice campground would be a big help. You Tube search was not very good.

We've stayed at Gulf Coast RV Resort in Inglis several times. Nice wide sites, reasonable rates and close to Crystal River where we enjoy some diving.

That looks very nice! We looked at a koa in Naples. The campers were too close. This is a big help. Thank You.

Why search Youtube? I would think searching on Google in that area would give better results.

I did that also. They show a set of photos and a map of the campground. The best reviews come from people that were there.

I don't trust any pictures. I found a campground with a spot that looked great right on the lake. Trees all around etc.
We arrived an there wasn't a tree between campsites to be found. The neighbors an us where almost lookin eye to eye when either looked each others way. Access to the lake was a 30ft drop with maybe a foot of space to stand to fish. Stepped out of the front door and had maybe 2ft of rock filled space between the step an the incline of the land leading to the drive of the camp sight 30ft away from us. Very disappointed.
Hard to trust a picture. An this was a Corp of Engineer campground

You might take a look at the Campendium app. Makes it easy to look at sites with map and look at what others think. Good luck

Enjoy the journey

I also agree a couple pictures will not reveal to true nature of a campground. In fact I find very few pictures of the campsites. There will 20 pictures of the store, cabins, pool, sewer dump, garbage cans and the resident dog, but hardly anything on the camping. Makes it real hard to pick a spot.

I've seen that same thing.... like I really want to see pictures of their fence...

What I have done when interested in a CG is to bring up their campsite map from their site, then bring up Google Earth of the CG, and compared what looks like nice sites on their map to the Google map, to see tree cover and what's in that area.

Sun & Fun in Sarasota was a nice spot. We were there a few years ago

Campendium is good, but I find RV Parky to be my go to for finding a campground. There are others that work equally as well: Allstays, ReserveAmerica, Recreation, gov, KOA and Good Sam come to mind along with the Campground Reviews on the right side of this page. Usually after finding a couple possibles I look at Google Maps satellite to get a view of the layout. Then my wife calls and finalizes everything.

Depending on what you're looking for, take a look for the State Parks, here in Fl
You mentioned Naples - in the same general area, check out Oscar Scherer SP, in Nokomis.
Very nicely wooded/shaded, plenty of separation, nicely quiet. None of the pizza joints and playgrounds of, say, a KOA, but plenty of opportunity to sit and watch trees grow.

Actually about half an hour from home for us, so we can personally recommend it, it's a favourite weekend "impulse getaway". Maybe we'll see you there...

Yes, google earth or even google for images of that campground always yields better photos that what the actual business posts as photos.
It’s so frustrating that the owners don’t normally post images that would draw additional customers to them. Even posting the google earth image of their business would help and certainly make my search quicker. Even guests with a drone may provide free photos or even a movie through the site. Although still photos are still my preference. I’ll check out 5 campgrounds in just a few minutes, they need to catch my attention quickly or I move on.
I guess marketing is not always a focus.

The great majority of campgrounds don't permit the use of drones, for reasons of safety, privacy and noise.
The great majority of campers wouldn't be too happy about them, either.
