RV Repair Labor rates

Due to damage from a tire blowout I am having to have some body work done on my TT.

I find it interesting in my area the shop labor rate (dealer where I bought the trailer) for the repair to my TT is $145.00 per hour vs a shop rate of $80.00 -$125.00 for automotive repair at the local dealership.

I agree. Plus they are not certified repair techs and you will need to go over and repair what they screw up once you get it back.

Our dealer's shop is $145 per hour also. Our insurance company is still in negotiations with the shop to get my hail damaged siding repaired.

One close to me charges the absolute RIP OFF Fee of $179.00 per hour. If you are a Platinum member their rate is $149.00 per hour.

Long story short, I was buying Jayco from a dealer and when time to hook up to the truck , all electrical issues happened, Anyway, they wanted to 150.00 to install a Popular brand WDH (Pick your brand, didnt matter) and would not budge off of the overly highly priced hitch. I installed the one I already had and the jack blew everything up. Nothing worked after that. Walked away

Most shops have more work than they can handle therefore they must believe they can charge whatever they want. I’m sure their overhead is not that high. Not a lot of specialized equipment, tooling, etc. and I’m confident the techs aren’t getting rich. Comes down to simple supply and demand.

You just blew the 30amp in-line fuse on the trailer tongue. Very common issue when using the jack if it gets overloaded or hot. 30 second fix.
