sad

Put the TT away for the winter today in the shed
. Will visit it occasionally this winter but roll down the highway to new adventures with it next May. At 71 we sometimes wonder how much longer we will be able to do this?

Well, my FIL was camping in his 5th wheel until age 80. He may have gone longer, but his DW passed, and he lost interest. I plan on camping 'till I'm 125!

Enjoy!

71 is young, have fun and when you can’t lift something anymore, or climbing into the bed to hook something up gets tough! Invite someone who can help. Then BBQ some ribs for them. That’s my plan

It is sad to put it away for the winter. Wanted to do more camping and go more places. We will winterize this week after they are done repainting the faded cap. I will retire next month at the age if 66 and we are planning to pull that sucker all over until we just can’t physically do it anymore. Keep going as long as you can.

As long as you enjoy it, keep on camping! We have camped with a couple for over 20 years and the husband has MS that has progressed and regressed off and on for years. They still camp actively. He uses a wheeled walker to get around and his wife also uses one. They take hours to set up but usually turn away offers for help.

That's going to be me when I get old. I'm 77 now.

Life is all about how you look at it. In my opinion, you just need to get out there in the wind and enjoy it.

I almost 74 with lots of aches and pains, but we still go. Pain is a little worse after hooking up and unhooking and getting all set up, but then it is all worth it. Set back with a cold one around a nice campfire and it all goes away!

We towed ours to the storage barn yesterday too. The driveway looks so empty. But we had a great season getting out for 5 enjoyable week long trips and a few weekends. Already have reservations for next year so that's something to look forward to. I'm coming up on 68 and will camp as long as I can.

At 76 we have no intention of slowing down. Yesterday I put my TT up on jacks and replaced my suspension with a Dexter Heavy Duty suspension kit. Today we will be packing and preparing for our next trip to Lake Havasu City in about a week. After that we will be planning a trip to see my daughter in San Antonio.

As long as we have our health we will continue to enjoy RV'ing. Here in Arizona we are out and just about all year long.

I'm a youngster at 65, but Irene and I are new rv'ers and having a blast. Enjoy all the testimony above. You sound like the people we've been meeting.

Thank you for all the positive posts, sounds to me that at 71 we are just kids even though we have been RVing for 40 years.
It appears that RVers' are a tough lot. We too want to camp as long as possible as we really enjoy the camping experience and the folks we meet. Not a better way to see the country as the travel map on the side of out TT will attest to.

We covered our TT last weekend and plan that it will be the last time we have to cover it once we retire next year (her retiring and me doing part-time consulting while on the road). Of course staying healthy enough to handle the physical requirements of rving is a major issue. We realize things can change in an instant so the best you can do is take it one day at a time.
