Scissor Jacks
I need suggestions on how to stabilize our
33ft Jayco Eagle. THe 3 point leveling jacks work perfectly, but do not stop the movement of the trailer when walking from front to back, I use 6 scissor jacks from the frame to the ground for support as well.
That improved the rocking some. Any other suggestions ???? Thanks

I put bottle jacks under the frame just in front of the axels to take the movement out. Don't lift the RV, just snug them up and let the scissor jack down a bit.

I use 2 of these under my rear bumper. Just snug them up. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-44561-O...%2C127&sr=8-87

I use a pair of Camco's Wheel-stop (their version of the x-chock). They work fine for us to stop the front/back movement

Taking the a little weight off the suspension with lifts eliminated almost of all the wiggle in our 26BH. I added some lifts at the hanger brackets.

TCNashville made great suggestions. But to save money, you could buy the xchocks, and make you’re own side to side stabilizers. The best mod I have done and makes the trailer rock solid.

You can probably eliminate almost all the front to back sway using X-Chokes. I get no front to back sway with them attached. The won't eliminate side to side movement.

Totally agree with Ben28881, they are awesome. The are also cheap, easy to make and store well.

I agree with the X-Chocks. We also put Steadyfast Stabilizers, http://m.steadyfast.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.steadyfast.com%2F&utm_referr er=#2830, on our 28BHBE, they are great. Nothing additional to store and put out when you are setting up. Permanently attacked & go down with your jacks, just need to tight the handles.

What I have found it don't put the scissor jack over 1/2 way down. There is more movement if over 1/2 way down.

Inherent to the design, scissor jacks support weight in a linear model. The higher they are the more weight they support.
They might state they are 3500 scissor jack but it you read the small print they are only rated at 3500 lbs when they are fully extended, or near that extension. At half extension they will support less then half the rated weight.
I don't doubt that the jacks supported the weight at the location. If you look at a standard trailer that weighs 8,000 lbs and then subtract the weight supported by the suspension and the the tongue jack. You are left with less then 2,000 on each corner. If the suspension is still actively engaged there is probably less then 1,000 lbs on each corner that is being supported by the scissor jack.
Adding blocks to the corner scissor jacks helps with soft ground but the higher you stack blocks under the jacks the less weight rating the jack is able to support.
