Smell coming from kitchen faucet
While I was winterizing my 2015 Jayco SLX 264BHW. I notice a funky smell coming from my kitchen faucets. Any idea what it could be?

Faucet or drain? My grey tank usually smells worse than my black. I try to sanitize it a couple times a yr with bleach or a grey tank tablet. If its the faucet i have no idea.

If it is the faucet see if running hot water makes it worse. Several people including myself have had the hot water go bad and have an intense rotten smell. The problem is that some kind of crud grows in the hot water tank if left unattended. Lots of flushing with mild chlorinated water should cure it.
I now drain the hot tank if I am going to leave it unused for more the a few days.

The smell is a result of the water reacting with the aluminum tank in the water heater, which produces hydrogen sulfide gas. This is very common. It especially occurs when electricity is used to heat the water, versus LPG or natural gas.

Might be a good time to sanitize your fresh water tank.

Try sanitizing your fresh tank. Run some mildly chlorinated water thru your lines at each faucet and let it sit for a couple of hours then flush them with fresh city water.

I noticed the antifreeze i used this year had a funky smell to it. When I was winterizing this year took me a bit to figure out where the smell was coming from.

No matter what we do, we get the smell. Yes, we sanitized the fresh water tank per instructions. Yes, we drain our hot water tank after every darn campout. So wife runs water until the smell goes away. And it is in our kitchen & front bathroom cold water faucets - not hot water.

Used air to winterize. When I turned on the kitchen sink cold water is when I smelled it. I have never used fresh water tank. I ran the pump but no water came out.

Odd problem. Are you the orig owner? Could hot cold be reversed by PO? If the smell is “rotten egg” then most likely it’s from the WH.
Sorry, using shortcuts. PO= previous owner, WH=water heater. If you knew this, sorry, didn’t want to confuse.

if it's not in the tank it must be in the lines. maybe try some TSP and leave it sit in the lines for a while

Yup,, it is the hot water tank.. I noticed the same thing winterizing.. I alway open the faucets before i open the low point drains and the hot water tank.. I noticed a rotten egg smell coming to the batherm facet and the same smell when i emptied the hot water tank.. Defiantly coming out of the hot water tank, not sure why, but that is the source of rotten egg smell

X2. We have had the same rotten egg smell. Drain the water tank if it is going to set for an extended period (more than a couple of weeks).

He said kitchen faucets. Did not state hot or cold. Assumption was made it was from the hot side since that is where I have experienced that bad smell. Never from the cold side.

Above is where the OP stated the smell was coming from the cold side. Like you, I would've had assumed the smell was coming from the hot side [water heater] but coming from the cold side has me puzzled. I wonder if possibly the hot water is getting mixed with the cold water somewhere in the line or at the back of the water heater via the winterizing valves not completely shut or open.
