I make sure mine is fully charged. I disconnect it and leave it in it's spot. I have never had a problem.

I pull mine out and leave them in an unheated (but attached) garage, place them on 2x6s and charge once a month.

I leave all batteries in their place fully charged with no load on them Have been doing so for years. After 5 months of no attention they are fine.
