Yikes. Wonder how much stuff is inside trailer.
I know of someone who was bringing in their slides and the toppers bound up and ruined the side alignment. The trailer has been at the RV Repair facility for six months.
I sweep my slides with a Broom.

If you don't have them, you must at least look to make sure they are clear. Even a pine cone can cause grief.
Those pictures are the answer to a RV repairman's Christmas for his family!!

Yes indeed. I always suggest buying them to my customers, however, I also stress the point -- if you dont buy them, make sure you look up top after setup to make sure the wipe seal is out. Before you close up, make sure roof is swept off.

That's just ridiculous. Talk about an opportunity for water intrusion let alone slide damage. I don't have slide toppers and don't care if I ever do... I get up there and sweep and it takes just a few minutes. One less thing to wear out and break but to not do it and just let it go... that's crazy.

I bought a cordless leaf blower and it works great on getting stuff off of the slide.

For me the topper is the only way to go because rain soaked leaves and water removal would not be that easy on a 3' x12' slide. Also I would need to carry a 6-8' ladder with me and that I won't do. My awning ( topper) is 4 years old and looks great and if I need to replace it well that's just cost of camping and the connivence of it. When it's time to leave I just want to pack it up and head to my next camp ground, I'll clean up when I get home. And I don't need to pack up a ladder that I would only use to clean that roof.

I agree but with 3 on my rig, it can be a pricey cost to bear if they all wear out at the same time.

I know, dammed if you do and dammed if you don't have them. But you know we love this style of living so much that we have to just suck it up.
Would I do this Jayco, camping thing again if I had a choice well that's a big YES!

I don't own one of those ladders but I have used one just like it. It felt sturdy and stable enough for short little tasks.

I use a WORX GT cordless blower for cleaning off slides and our mats while camping,Its the greatest thing ever,i use a ladder to climb up and clean them off.I would love slide toppers but far more important things to get with the money they cost

I wouldn't lean it against the gutters. I would set it up in the back of the trailer then climb up.

May as well just use my built-on ladder then. I was hoping to find a solution for getting crap off the slide "in the wild" without climbing onto the roof or hauling a big A-frame ladder. Being up on the roof doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling, and it drives DW crazy...

I wish I had the factory ladder on the back.
You could also lean the ladder against the inner sides of the slide before closing it. There isn't a gutter there either.
