2016 28bhbe

Good morning all!!! Recently purchased a 2016 28BHBE and can not wait to pick her up today!! I had a 2018 Salem Cruise Lite 171RBXL, was our first time rving and wanted something small to test out. As the kids are getting bigger and realizing how much we love rving, we decided to go bigger. Thank you for the wealth of knowledge on the forums and can't wait to update you guys on the trips in the future.

How is the camper? Do you have any pictures? Where is your first trip? We expect to go to Maine this year for the big one.

Congratulations on the new TT and Welcome to the forum. I have a2014, 287 BHBE which is a slightly lighter version of the 28 BHBE. I am sure you will enjoy the space inside the unit...even that huge corner shower!

Congratulations.
Some advice on the 28BHBE. Speaking from EXPERIENCE.

(1) ALWAYS double check the bunk ladder and the front Entertainment cabinet doors to make sure (without a doubt) Before putting the slide out or retracting it.
(2) Since you can not see the smoke detector when the slide is in. BEFORE putting the slide out, make sure it is hanging up on the ceiling. Mine dropped down while traveling and we didn't know it and when putting the slide out. It got wedged between the 2 rubber seals and the frame. Trying to get it unwedged, put a small tear in the rubber roof. I was not happy about that. in my opinion, it is a bad place to hang the smoke alarm. Now, before bringing the slide in, I put the smoke alarm in one of the drawers for traveling.

We upgraded from a 26BH and love the 28BHBE. Lots of room, and love the big shower.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!! This past weekend we took the camper about 5 miles down the road just to check everything and get used to the new camper. It was GREAT!!! I could not smiling and my 2 1/2 year old can't stop talking about the next camping trip. The space and storage in this camper is amazing, and the shower is huge. We tested all the systems and got familiar with the camper, I even took it to the highway just to see how she pulls behind my TV. I am looking to get new tires, new WDH, a cell phone / WiFi booster. Other than odds and ends, that is all we purchase for now. If the wife has it her way we will be remodeling the entire inside just to make is ours, need to slow her down. We are going on a 3 day trip in a week and then a 10 trip to the northern part of Michigan. I will post pictures when I sort through them. Again, thank you for all the warm welcomes and the tips, this forum and the people on it are great.
