Hello

Greetings all, I am not an owner yet, but hope to be an owner of either a Jayco 154BH or 174BH, either way, it will be my first RV. I am sure I will have many questions as I get deeper into the research. Thanks to all who have answered my questions thus far.

I put 154bh 174bh in the search function on the gold bar above and got several discussions on which to buy, towing, etc. Might help.

I don't know what you will tow with but if you can handle the price, storage and towing the extra 2 feet of space to pack and live in is a great idea. I wish my 195RB was a couple feet longer so we could store all the stuff and have more elbow room. It does help us spend more time outside!

I will be using a 2006 Chev. Express Van (G1500 model with the v8)

That van has a lot of load and towing capacity for either of those RVs. But being a 2006, I would take extra care in having the steering, undercarriage and brakes inspected for safety. As it is 14 years old I would discount the max a bit but I would bet either would be ok. You actually have about the same towing and much more load capacity than my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I would suggest the Andersen WDH as it has sway control as well as weight distribution capability. It is also light weight and easy to install and hitch up with. Unless you got a bunch of kids to fill the van, you have the advantage over my Jeep in lots of space and weight carry capacity in the van vs. putting it all in the trailer.

If you have a dealer you can visit I suggest you all go there and sit inside, pretend to prepare and eat a meal, etc. Spend some time inside the smaller one then move to the bigger one and see if you need the space. Look in closet and shelves and see if there is a place for all your 'stuff'. Elbow room and room to sit on a rainy day is important to enjoying your new RV.
