Hello from AZ Jayco Swift 198RD
Hello all! New to the forum, learning about my new-to-me 2012 Jayco Swift 198 RD. It is in great shape, but needs some TLC. Been doing a lot of research, purchasing little things to make repairs, and checking all the systems to make sure our first trip will be successful.
The toilet water inlet was cracked, so just ordered a new toilet, rather than deal with fixing that part, and another part possibly breaking. And the previous owner's kids broke the bathroom door, so it is completely missing, and I am working to replace that as well. The vent fan in the bathroom was also broken, and the top cover was actually missing, so I just replaced the entire unit. I am handy with tools, so this kind of thing is right up my alley. I previously had a small Skamper Pop-up, so this is my first foray into a travel trailer.
Deciding on a generator to buy, where to mount it, adding a anti-sway hitch kit, figuring out all the workings of the A/C, fridge, water heater. I have read the online owners manual, and did some cleaning and sanitation of the water system, leak testing, etc.
Looking forward to reading about all of your units, and learning more about mine. Happy camping!
