Hello from NJ

Hi all. I am buying a used Greyhawk. Me and family are first time Rvers. We have talked about it for years but have never been able to for many reasons. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to being part of this new community...

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! Look it over inside, outside, and underneath, twice. If you have a family member/friend/neighbor that has RV experience, ask if they'll take a look at it with you. Make sure all the appliances work well. like the fridge, stove and oven, microwave, air conditioner, furnace, and water pump. Check around any inside plumbing you can see, for signs of water leaks or damage. Ask to see any maintenance and repair receipts for proper care. You didn't mention the year of the Greyhawk, or how many miles on it. The reason they're selling it?

All great questions. 6,000 miles on it. I am buying it from 2nd owner who says that he took it on two trips with his grand-kids putting a total of 1'500 miles on it in the three years he owned it. The engine compartment was immaculate. My guy checked the oil and trans fluid all looked good. No visible leak damage noticeable anywhere. We spent about an hr going over the things we could think of and get to. The seller has also agreed to pay for anything that does not work. He insists everything works and he has maintained it in the 3 years . He has many other machines, tools, and toys(boats, earth movers, etc) My big reservation is that it has sat outside. It did look nice on my first go around. Thanks for all your in-put...

No problem. I almost forgot, check the roof, too. See if there's any signs of degradation on the sealant around the edges, and anything protruding through it. That might be a source of a water leak that might not be visible from the inside. And roll out the awning, also.

It sounds like you've got a good start on your inspection. Happy shopping!
