JAYCO 2001 Gap above door when closed down

Hi there,
I have new to me 2001 Jayco Eagle with an issue of a gap above door when it's closed down. I never noticed this when we purchased the camper a week ago but we used it this weekend and noticed when we closed it up there is a small gap above the door. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions of how to fix this? TIA, have a great Monday!

There is suppose to be a gap, but, there is also a weather seal that should be on top of the door to seal that gap. Our 2003, which we traded off earlier this year, had the same issue. The original seal had begun to dry rot, crack, break, and was compressed to the point there was no longer a seal. We caught it, and fixed it, before there was any water damage, but, not before the camper filled up with dirt daubers and wasps. The seal can be easily replaced, or, you can use a foam rubber weather seal large enough to seal the gap. We went with a factory replacement that we ordered through a local dealer.
