New Member In Oswego NY Area

Hi, we have been camping for many years with a few breaks between. In September of 2018 I bought a Salvaged 1999 Jayco Eagle Lite 211 fifth wheel. I thought i would restore it in one year, it took me three. The only thing left original is the metal frame and the outside skin. I am including a link to my youtube picture/video of the build. If anyone has any questions I will answer them.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting your Jayco back in camping shape. I have to tell you, watching your video and seeing the amount of work that went in to your restoration is downright amazing. Thanks for taking the time to put that together and sharing it with us.

Welcome from Northern California! I think it safe to say that you have used a hammer and saw more than once in your life. That is truly something to be proud of. Thanks for sharing the journey with us.

Thanks, yes it’s interesting how you can pick up skills if your around people that have them (my father in law). I also did a lot of fabricating/welding on the project. The axle spring relocation, the stair support and the trailer hitch. But I was a certified welder in a nuc plant in my former life.

HMMM....I have just enough welding skill to do basic stuff. But, it is always amazing to me to watch a pro at work.

With that said, I have family in Upstate and I know exactly where Oswego is. If you happen to need a project or two to keep you busy, I'll be happy to drop a few things off at your door.....LOL

Haha thanks I always add one job before finishing the one I’m on so the next one is queued up. Another custom motorcycle.

I was thinking more on the lines of a roll cage. But, motorcycles are cool too.....LOL

Seriously, finding a good welder, especially someone with true fab skills is very difficult.
