To buy or not to buy

Thinking of buying a 2019 jayco hummingbird baja edition. Does anyone have any concerns about the durability of the laminate flooring or the side walls.

Welcome from Wisconsin. We had a 2018 Hummingbird 17RK (not a Baja edition) and it was a great little camper. No problems or leaks at all.

Welcome from Northeast Illinois. We don't have any experience with the Hummingbird line, but we have had good luck with their Jay popup and Jay Flight SLX travel trailer lines.

Welcome aboard!

The wall and floor construction I believe is identical to my HTT. Generally speaking they are rock solid.

Water is your enemy in all campers, no mater what construction technique used. Campers are NOT low maintenance. You need to check your caulking and roof at least twice a year. If water gets in to the roof and starts down the wall, you will get delamination.

The enemy of laminate flooring is sand tracked in and ground into the plastic. I would recommend a Swiffer sweeper. I pick up the much cheaper Dollar Tree pads and we do it often. We also have a childs toy broom and dust pan and use them for large amounts of sand/dirt/leaves.
