I used to use the J C Whitney auto parts catalog and they offered a record turntable for cars. It mounted on the transmission hump and was "shock" mounted. Never bought one, figured it would scratch up my albums. Pre-8 track days.

I had a car 45 rpm record player and as I remember it did not skip. Can't remember how much of a hassle it was to swap records.

WOW, I tell my kids about the record player that I had in my old Plymouth. And they continue to laugh at me and tell me I am making things up and they were going to take my keys away. I remember when you ordered your automobile and you could get them without a radio. Of course the old style air conditioner add ons hung below the dashboard.
