Help from anyone

I have been to the Yellowstone twice while in a car. This time I am planning on taking my new Class C. Is traveling in the Yellowstone advisable with a 31ft class C to do pullovers and such. Probably will stay out of the park for night camping.

I have seen MHs on the roads sight seeing.

Yellowstone in a class C - Thoughts?

We will be going to Yellowstone in September and looking forward to it. Many members on this forum can help. You might get better responses if you change the title of your post to something more specific such as "Traveling with a Class C to Yellowstone," or Will a Class C be safe in Yellowstone." That way people who read your title will know if they can help.

I would not recommend it. We were there last August and saw several class C inside Yellowstone attempting what you asked. The pull outs and parking lots for the various attractions are very tight. Parking was difficult. There are some rv/bus parking sites but there are a lot of tour vans that take them. I saw one longer class c trying to negotiate a turn around and hit a parked car scraping up the side the both. Because parking is so difficult, many folk just pull part way off the road in place that aren’t actually parking spots making the travel lanes much narrower.

If you can tow a vehicle, do it. Leave the RV at the campground and take your vehicle for tours. Everything in Yellowstone is very tight. Pulling off along the road would be very difficult in an RV (it's even difficult in a car). For that matter, just about any National Park has the same issue. In some parks you can take a shuttle from the visitor center. Sometimes you can even take a shuttle from campgrounds. Maybe something to check on.

It can be done but would not recommend at all. parking lots are full and a lot of traffic and people. it will be frustrating to want to see something and no room to park. we have a hard time with our truck or car sometimes. had visitors a few years ago and they had a 30foot class c and they rented a car in west Yellowstone and took that into the park and they enjoyed it. that is how I would do it is rent a car. otherwise visit in late april or may or sept or October when there is a lot less people and especially in the spring there is tons of parking. good luck

I know they used to have shuttle buses from the local towns and some campgrounds to the common attractions in Yellowstone. I don't remember how much its been along time.
