I retired debt free. To my surprise Foremost Insurance Company increased my insurance premium because they said I was a higher risk without debt. Argued with them for 6 months before I cancelled them. Credit score at the time was 802.

As a teenager trying to charge tires for my first car, a credit manager said to me that NO credit history is the best credit report one can have. What a difference a half a century makes!
