Shortage of computer chips

Here's an article that sounds close to home here. Yet another component shortage, that's now affecting auto manufacturers. It seems like a long road to be going down.

Parts shortages are affecting everything not just the Auto and RV industries. Our house refrigerator quit cooling on Dec 30 and the parts required to fix it are scheduled to arrive on Friday or Saturday. Yes, over 3 weeks without a fridge.

The fridge we had in the garage needed some parts and after 6 months of delays the home warranty company finally awarded cash in lieu of repair 2 weeks before the indoor fridge quit cooling.

I haven't looked recently, but before Christmas, we started shopping for a new freezer for the house to replace the one that we have that is from the 70's. There were none in stock locally.
