What Did You Do To Your RV TODAY?

Did a “just in case” sort of winterization. Just blew out the lines but wasn’t real thorough. Supposed to briefly fall below freezing here. Amazing how much water these things hold after a trip.

And found I may be due for batteries. Went to raise the front end and lost all 12v after a few seconds till I reset the batteries. Found the batteries to be at 12.4 in series. I suspect one was lower but didn’t test individually. Save all that for the weekend when it’s warmer.

Winterized last week! Watched the snow melt off of it today! Burrr it is cold this Halloween

Put plastic bag around the fridge vent and another up into the stove hood vent, checked one last time inside to make sure all the cabinet and fridge doors were open. Gave "her" one last hug!

Put 60 gallons of fresh water in the tank, tested the furnace and the AC, added air to the tires, and turned on the refrigerator. Leaving for Quartzsite this weekend. Weather in the mid 80’s daytime, 50’s at night. No antifreeze for us…

I’m a new owner to a new 22rb. I have the 12volt fridge, but my model year still offered the 3 way fridge, so I have the big black fridge vent cover on the outside, but the space where you’d find 3 way fridge components is empty and has been finished off with unfinished luan. I wondered if this combination of open vent and raw luan made that space vulnerable to moisture. I was thinking of ways to block the vent. I read your comment and now you have given me the good idea of putting a bag around it and reinstalling. Also, it’ll serve as deterrent to the hornets in early spring.

All I could do was glance at it a few times undercover while outdoors doing a few chores. She wanted to put Christmas lights up today and I said no not till after Thanksgiving. I will regret that I know. The weather will probably turn bad real soon and I will hear I told you so. It has happened before.

Hopefully this will last a few more years. I saw no evidence of leaks. I scrubbed the Eternabond with a scotch pad before priming. We are headed out Monday for our first trip of 2023.

You're doing it like my mom taught me and her mom taught her: Only way to really get a floor (or roof) clean is on your hands and knees, a good terry towel, hot water and soap!

My Grammy would say, if you're not stiff and sore when you're done, you didn't do it well enough!

Aww..that's sad.

I spent today, chilly day here in CT, be-bopping around the camper. Went out, turned on the furnace, let it get all warmed up. Went in and hung out, turned on radio, placed some Command hooks and a paper towel holder. Looked around to consider what I'd put and where.

My sad day is coming. I ordered THE COVER a few days ago and it'll be here on Wednesday.

Glad you saw that, has worked for me every time I put her away for the winter. One other thing I do is use bronze wool in any potential entry points to deter our little rodent pests.

Put a piece of rigid Styrofoam in there and paint the wood with outdoor paint or truck bed coating to waterproof it

Moved it over to our new home a few miles from the old one. I’m excited to have it right next to the house, instead of down the street in an RV yard. So much nicer for winterizing, packing and doing odd fixes. And no more onerous HOA to worry about! I have the luxury of an RV carport but it isn’t tall enough for the Jayco (just the boat trailer). But it will sit nicely in front of it behind the fence.

Finished the fall two-step: Winterized (drained WH, blew out the lines and put AF in the P-traps) and covered her up. My usual helper (our son) moved, but I was able to wrestle the cover up with the help of DW. All set til spring!

Put these slides in the the kitchen cabinets. 2 to the right of the stove, 1 to the left(bottom only a foot deep),and removed the drawer under the sink for the pots and pans.

Replaced frosted door window with tinted one with shade. Not a bad job.

Loaded clothes and food, turned on the fridge, and checked all systems. Leaving on our last trip of 2023 to Lake Havasu State Park on Monday. Total miles for the year 7,559, 16 trips. Looking forward to next year.
