For the rest of the season we'll be at Smith's Point Park. My wife loves being at the beach. Other than one or two trips out of state we stay local. I don't mind since between a small fortune is gas/tolls, and traveling the Cross Bronx Expressway to get out of NYS, the beach is fine with me.

Just got back from Virginia ‘s eastern shore (Chincoteague and Cape Charles), off to Glouster Point, VA this weekend. Outer banks of NC two weeks after, then Jamestown, NY for Labor Day. Already been to Ashland, VA, Glouster Point, Urbana, VA. Stopped in White Lake, NC (a crystal clear spring fed lake), southern SC, Fort Wilderness, Myrtle Beach. Woo!! I can’t get enough! Maybe we’ll stop in Gettysburg on the way up to NY.

When you are in Jamestown NY, stop by the Lucille Ball museum. It is a really nice facility.

My wife is from the area, we visit family there twice a year for the past 15 years. There isn’t any Lucy things I have missed, unfortunately...never was a fan. And there are at least 6 Lucy related facilities, not all of them very good. The town of Celeron just replaced the ugly Lucy statue a couple of years ago...I don’t know if they put the ugly one in storage or not.
