Toilet leaking

Hey Guys!
Hope everyone is staying safe!!

Question!?

I have moisture that is now appearing to be a slow leak coming from the toilet in my Octane 222!

It’s less than a year old and has yet to have anyone sit on it! I have made sure the bolts are snug.....anyone have a suggestion before I pull the toilet to check the seal??

Is it only wet between the base and the floor? If it's never been used, there may be a drip from the water supply line at the back of it. If it has been used, then I'd pull it off the floor, and check the foam seal to the water closet on the floor. It's easy to remove it, just make sure you turn off the water supply to the Octane first. Two nuts and the water line, and it's free. Place a new seal on the bottom of the toilet, and carefully set it straight down, reattach the water, and the hold down nuts, and you're all done.

Just turn off the pump so it won't start up when you loosen the water line to the toilet. Question, is there any sign of a water droplet on the water line connection? It's not uncommon for water lines to loosen a bit over time. Run a finger underneath the nut and see if you have water on it.

You'll need to turn off the water pump if it's on before you pull the line. Also open your low point plumbing drains to get as much water out of the lines as possible so you have less of a mess when the line is pulled. If you have water at the base of the toilet it may be coming from a source above. As mentioned above it could be the water line but it could also be the vacuum breaker. These are very prone to leaking.

Edit: Boy you guys type fast!! Just ignore my post!

You're most welcome. I'm glad to have made your day. The new seal is a good idea, too. Happy trails!

No such thing as a dumb question here, and even the experienced folks have questions, since RV's get more complicated, or systems change some between models they've owned. I've had six RVs, and still learn something here every day. It's what we're here for.
