Smile Toy Hauler Happijac bed

I have a 2019 Octane T30F with the Happijac dual bed in the rear. Top is bed and bottom is a couch/bed. For some unknown reason the regular Octanes
have been discontinued? If you can find a 2019 Octane T30F I would buy
it now.

Happijac has changed the way you keep the top bed in the up position.

You no longer need pins but instead at each corner just below the top
bed you will see a small gold colored lever which you flip to keep the bed
up or to let it down. This is next to the old hole you used to put the pin in.

This is apparently a new mod by Happijac.
Works great but still no info on the Happijac web site?

Why no more

Maybe because they were so big and heavy. As a TT they were a bit much, no?

Octane2, Weight is no problem, I tow with a Ram 2500 diesel. I have a Sherline scale. Tongue weight was 1670 lbs without RZR. 1300 lbs with heavy 1800 lb. xp1000 Polaris this is 11 %, just right. (Weighted RZR at scales)
Trailer is loaded with dual air, (2) 6 volt batteries, 30 gal water, fuel & junk.

I needed a unit under 36" that would fit in my garage at home and in the future could hold a 4 place RZR. I had a 2016 Jayco 36' 5th wheel but was tired of having to come back home and get my RZR which I keep in an enclosed 16' trailer. All the 5th wheels were to long or to heavy. Old unit to long to double tow.

I will post my total weight as soon as I can get it to the scales at a close by Loves truck stop.

I have a 2019 Octane 222SL. It has the “new” bed lift latching system also. The dealer was surprised at the PDI that the bed now has “some kinda latching mechanisms “
One of those new latches isn’t “grabbing” the bunk and as you said there is NO info about this new latching that I can find.
My “fix” (pending until dealer can fix) is a smaller diameter pin which allows it to pass the bottom portion of the “latch” through the “old style” pin holes.
I’m waiting for some response from HapiJac about how this new latch actually functions. Info is scarce and Jayco is clueless.

I had the left/front not holdup the top bed one time. I re-raised the bed and then pushed up the corner of the top bed until it clicked. Worked good after that. You might check to see if the latch bolt could be to tight not allowing it to swing.
My dealer had the same problem, never heard of the new latch until I called them.

I wrote out instruction on how I work my NEW Happijac bed.
The file is in a PDF format so you can print it if you want.

If you find any errors, Please advise me.

Happijac toy hauler bed platform

The NEW Toy Hauler Happjac beds now use a new locking system to lock the top bed in the up position.
The beds no longer use locking pins.

Thanks good instructions , my problem left front will not “click” the latch seems to stay in the “retracted” position pushing up on the corner puts the trolly above the latch but it doesn’t “pop out” to grab the bunk corner. All other corners operate correctly. Playing phone tag with HJ ......meanwhile I pin the left corner since the old pin holes are still on the track rails.

Had similar problem but with my bed but I have pins, took a few try’s but finely got the bed adjusted so it would go up evenly so I could put the pins in and out with out fighting to push it up.
