Alternator with solar

Hi all,
Going into our fourth year with the Alante, decided to upgrade to solar panels
and lifepo4 batteries. After doing a week's worth of research here and online,
I feel comfortable with the installation. I plan on getting it done and tested
Before we head south in January.
My biggest concern now is if my current alternator in the F53 is able to keep
Up. I couldn't find any mention of it here. If anyone has any experience with this
Matter I would appreciate the advice.
Thanks Pete

There's a DC/DC charger thread going on in the Class C section now. Are you planning on using one to charge the LiFePO4s? Or just feed 'em from the alternator? How many batteries are you going to install?

Thanks for the reply. I plan on installing 2 lifepo4 100ah batteries with 2
100w panels on the roof. I've checked my converter and it has no issues
With the lithium charge. From the info I saw on that thread it seems as
Long as my alternator in the chassis is at least 200 Amp I'll be ok.
Still learning MH electrical.
Thanks Pete

The Ford F53 chassis in 2015 only has a 175Amp Alternator. In 2020 it was updated to 210amps.

Thx for reply Dbrown. Not sure why it does'nt show in
my sig any more, it has for a couple years now. My MH
is a 2021 Alante 27a on a 2020 F53 chassis. I'll double
check tomorrow.
Thanks
Pete

Yeah, I think the Class C consensus was that your average alternator is more than capable of putting out enough amps to charge them. But if you head over to some mfg blogs, like Battle Borne, they'll recommend some additional components before you connect things.
