Dinette screws popped out
Well, another item to fix. While running genset at storage site today, noticed 3 screws popped out of wall for dinette mount. Yay.

If you want an easy fix, get some cotton balls and some super glue. Take small pieces of cotton and push tightly into the hole. Few drops of super glue. Repeat several times until you get the hole filled. Make it several times, not one and done. Sand off the top flat, drill a pilot hole the size for your screws shank, and screw it down. It will not be breaking again any time soon. You can also mix some wood ash in with it too. Might set faster. Suggest try it on a piece of ply before your floor.

Thanks. More of FYI of poor fastener applications with Jayco.
I’ll probably go with hallow wall anchor to fix. Like seen here…

Those should work, if you can find them big enough for those holes. Seems hard to find larger ones. The drill holes size would need to be close to your torn out hole. Best wishes.

Did something very similar to this but instead used toothpicks and glue. Holding up my dinette table currently.

This is the EXACT same thing I saw with my dinette seats. I properly tightened them when I saw this after a previous trip and they haven't moved since. Not sure if they were pretty loose to begin with. I have a checklist of things I take a look at between trips so if they start to loosen again I will take additional measures.
I also often have the little bottom pins in the cabinet hinges fall out from time to time.
Of course I also find a screw once in a while where I have no idea where it came from which is the most fun.

Good point, will review. Been super hot here in SW Ohio, RealFeel is 104, will look at/update after this weekend.
When I saw the screws out, after running genny, I just walked away. Lol.

Well, took another look at today, long story short, Jayco did not properly mount one side of the dinette seating. Taking back to dealer to fix.
See pics, I can’t fix as it is about inch away from wall and also the bottom portion was skipped/no screws even mounted. Let dealer fool around and re-align/fix.
Rig is stamped/built Nov, 2020. Who knows what else was skipped once production resumed after world paused on March 2020.

So, you think it will be warranted?

Sent email Tues to motorizedservice@jayco.com but rig past 2yr warr but I feel that something missed at factory (especially during Covid) should be addressed. Somewhat concealed.
They did email back today, using the 2yr as excuse, still trying.
Maybe a call to this lemon lawyer guy. As we have list of issues with this rig. Bought new. Still working full time, can’t keep taking this thing in and wasting time/money.
Or item for
“Manufacturer Communications“ https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2021/jayco/alante
https://youtu.be/SYmAwrAtfhQ?feature=shared
Dealer said hr charge to fix. I’d be ok with reimbursement. Wholesale warranty has no coverage on structural. Worst case we’ll shimmy up the dinette seat and figure the bracket/mount. Probably needs all nuts/bolts taken off.
See what they can do, if nothing, they lost my future business.

Filed report with nhtsa 11542084, for what that is worth.
I tried but Jayco deflected accountability/responsibility, does not care about reputation risk. They got me for now but wayyy down the road purchase, will not be Jayco.

The overhead bunk in the front of ours, bought used, was having an issue. I figured it out. The driver side strap rear coming off the shaft is supposed to go through an enclosed slot in plastic. They did not do that. Being outside the loop causes it to spiral around the shaft like a cork screw.
Their response, out of warranty, not original owner, we will not pay anything, have a nice day.

Well, fixed the dinette (seat back driver side), with help from wife. Unscrewed all the screws and realigned back board. Added screws they missed on the bottom bracket that made it loose causing the top side to pop screws. Why the other seat side (close to bathroom) was fine is a mystery. Love me some Jayco.
Next item is to take to Ziebart for rust removal, under spray, sound damping and some window tint. Anyone do this that live in the midwest?
Then Cummins to fix genny issue we all seem to have.
Then lastly to Ford to check the vibration over 60mph issue.
All before Christmas trip to FL hopefully.

Fix looks good.... I know it sucks to have to do this stuff on such an expensive purchase, but the way I look at is the more I know how to fix the less i'm dependent on the dealer.

Thanks. Yea, good to learn, couple f bombs dropped getting in there, cramped space. Most screws were hard to get to.
