Fuel Fill Inlet

Just purchased a 2022 Alante 29s a few weeks ago. Took it out on our second trip and the check engine light went on with the “Check Fuel Inlet” message. I checked the fuel cap to make sure it was on tight. Any other suggestions? Is this common? Thanks for any help!

Had that happen on my Precept 36A once. The tether on the cap is "tight" and this caused me to think I had tightened the cap or caused the cap to loosen some, in any case I now hold the tether cord and make sure to twist the cap snug past the first few "clicks". Haven't had a problem since.

Thanks Paul. Tried what you suggested but the warning message has not gone away yet. I’ll keep looking for other solutions.

Now it's probably time to take it back to the dealer or do a google search, when you find the problem let us know, it will help others.

Not sure how long it took for the warning msg to go away, but I don't think it was too long, maybe after the next time I filled up. I do have a OBD II scanner, but I don't remember using it to clear the code...its possible I did. I'm not that familiar with the fuel system, but I believe there is a vent/overflow line before it goes into the tank and wonder if that could be causing a problem...again I could be wrong about this.

Thanks Paul. I’m going to fill up the tank and see if the message clears. Thanks again!

I had that light come on and could not get it to go off. I got under the fuel inlet and there is a grey hose that was sagging. I think is the overflow hose. Anyway I moved it up above the plastic fuel fill and taped it in place. Light went off and never came back on. I think there was a vacuum or something.

Happened to me on a car and the solution was a new fuel cap. Apparently the spring or rubber seal was bad out of the box.

Thanks. I wondered that as well if that could be the issue. I might just order one if the other recommended solution doesn’t work.
