Precept Headlights

So just like many others, we too had issues with the headlights on our Precept, in that not only were they very dim but also pointing everywhere but straight ahead!
My brother and I aligned them however, after a day of driving they went screwy again. I checked to make the nuts and bolts were tight, they were, so the misalignment didn't make sense.
I toyed with the idea of replacing them but the price and more importantly the obvious hassle of installing them caused me to try something else.
I replaced the bulbs that I could reach, the primary bulbs, with Sylvania LEDS: Problem Solved!! Not only are they bright as day but also properly aligned without having to me having to adjust them. I did not bother with the Highbeams as I can't reach them, and with the new bulbs I have not needed them.
So to those who have the problem save some money and try just replacing the bulbs.

Do you have a part # for the bulbs you installed?

No I just used the standard LED Sylvania bulbs I bought at AutoZone for a Ford truck. They were $100 for the pair.

You would have to look at your chassis manual and cross reference that to Sylvania's part numbers.

Paul,
The Chassis manufacture typically does not provide the headlights on the MH Jayco does. As an example my 2015 Jayco Precept 31UL has 2008 Mitshibishi Lancer headlights. The headlights are 9006 base part number.

Well, all I can say is that when I went to replace them, they were a standard automotive bulb. To be sure, you can just remove an existing one take it to the auto parts store and match it to the LED.

Got it, so I take it that it's easy to remove the bulb.

Bahahahahaha! Well, the fix is that easy! But getting to the bulbs, well that takes being able to squeeze your torso into the engine compartment though the hood, then dislocating both arms at the shoulders, elbows and wrists to make the bend around to get to the bulb hubs and sockets!!! I am only being half facetious when I say that, but it can be done. However yes it does solve the problem without spending $325 per headlight to replace the entire unit when all you need are LED bulbs, at $100 for a set of 2. I didn't bother with the other high beam set, too difficult to reach.
