Microwave/connection oven outside vent?

Anyone know if the outside vent has a flap that needs to be unlatched? Washed the 35S today and it looks like there is a flap that should be released to allow the mw oven to cool properly. I can see something that looks like a pair of latches along the bottom edge but they don't budge, appear to be caulked to the vent frame.

What say the experts?

Which way?

Which way do they move? Looks like they slide down but they don't budge. Don't want to break something.

Black, plastic flap with 2 tabs on the bottom edge?

This was covered in my PDI. Different unit, but same vent sounds like. It's on my checklist to open / close it for setup / take down. I thought I was going to break off one of the tabs, but they do give way.

I just pull mine out from the bottom. Then push back in place.

On mine, the vent is for the range hood.

Like bansai said, outside there is a black plastic flap with 2 tabs at the bottom edge.
To release; with a thumb on each tab, push up hard... harder... HARDER... and the tabs will unlatch and the bottom of the vent will swing outward. I leave my vent unlatched.

Mine vents the hood vent and convection. I feel like i'm going to break the plastic tabs when I open it.

I usually leave the flap open unless it's in storage.

Got it!

Thanks to all, my vent flap now is free and uncumbered

The last "HARDER" finally got it free.

We don't have a gas oven, just the 3 burners on the stove top and microwave/convection oven. DW baked a meatloaf Sunday and the cooling fan ran a very long time, my first clue that it wasn't venting well to the outside.

Again, thanks to all.
