Precept 35s Exterior Door Won't Stay Open

Brand new RV family here. We took our 2018 Precept 35s out for the weekend to get any 'bugs' fixed before a longer trip.

Lots of little questions but my BIG question .... how do you get the exterior door to stay open? It doesn't seem to be able to be opened fully or attached to the coach. It was a nice, breezy day and the screen was closed but the exterior door kept flapping in the wind. Ideas?

My coach came with a pressurized "strut" attached to the bottom of the door and the door frame, which helps open it and keep it open in light breezes. In heavy winds it will close as well if the wind hits it right.

Are you missing the little strut on the bottom of the door?

The pressured strut doesn't seem to be adjustable. It allows the door to open to a 90 degree angle but doesn't allow it opened past that. I would prefer that the door opened up all the way (180 degrees) but it definitely stops and then slams forward in a medium breeze.

ok, so you do have the strut, so the issue is that you want it to open 180 degrees and stay open. In order to do that you'll need to remove the strut and install something like this.

YES!! Thank you. I was hoping we would not have to drill anything into the side of the coach but may need to. Thanks!

You could try removing the strut and use a long bungee cord from the fully open door to the mirror arm. You'll need something between the door and the awning arm to keep them from damaging each other.
