They'll pay a reasonable claim for non-Ford parts if genuine parts couldn't be found. I needed a transmission for a customers truck under a service part warranty and couldn't find a Ford tranny anywhere. They were backlogged and waiting for dirty cores to become available for rebuilding. Got a call back from our rep and they authorized a non-Ford transmission to be used. Jasper to be exact. So yea, if the parts weren't available and you needed to get your vehicle back on the road...they should pay the claim under warranty. Most of the time they require proof of unavailability from the dealer your shop was attempting to get the parts from.
