Questions about 2019 Alante 26X

My wife and I are considering buying a small Class A in the next 6 months or so. It will be our 1st motor home. We are just looking, but so far we like the 2019 Alante 26X. (or Entegra Vision 26X….same thing)

It’s 28’ overall length with a wheelbase of 178’, so for a WB/OL of almost 53%. Which I have read is ok?

My question is, do any of you with a 26X pull a toad? I’m thinking of towing a 2dr Jeep Wrangler.

Does motorhome length matter when flat towing a vehicle?

It seems to me that even though this 26X only has a 16,000# chassis, it still has the same engine/trans & power as the larger 18,000k & 22,000# rigs. So I believe it will tow just fine as long as I stay under the 5,000# rating?

I would like to hear thoughts or comments. We are coming from a very small bumper pull trailer, so even this 26X seems big to us. We are limited on length of where we can keep it, so I must stay below an actual 30’ length. We like the floor plan of this 26X. A little bigger shower would be nice, lol. But its still bigger than the one in our little trailer and we think it would work ok.

Thanks for any input. Like I said, we are still looking and about 6 months away from buying.

Hi Dale in AZ, We have a 2016 Atlante 26X which got in March. We have made two trips with it. First trip was down to Pensacola, Fla from Virginia Beach without our 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 2000 miles. In August we competed a 4100 mile trip out west towing the Jeep. We had NO problem with towing the Jeep. We are ready to go again.

I pull a 2016 Wrangler 4 Door with my 2018 26X with no problem. I have a M&G Brake System in my Jeep, so I added the Air Compressor to my Motorhome as the M&G Brake System works good and is easy to hook up, etc. JH

Thanks "mrchiefe7andlizzybullits "
That's encouraging. Sounds like you're enjoying your 26X. The newer Wranglers are a heavier than your 2005 "TJ" unlimited but not a lot. Glad to hear your setup is working well.
Thanks,

Hi micp,
Thanks for the input! I have haven't even started thinking about brake systems yet. I will look into that one.
Is the wheelbase on your 2018 26x, 158" or 178"? I have seen both wheelbases advertised as 2018's?
Thanks again, very helpful
