264BHW added storage

Our camper has the bare minimum overhead cabinets but we wanted a bit more storage space.

Bought a pre-fab shelf and 2 shelf brackets ~ $20 total. Mounted the brackets in the studs and put at the same height as the existing cabinet. The color matches almost perfectly.

See attached.

We had this same model before a hailstorm totaled it out and would have LOVED this addition! Storage was tough, especially since we had a pack n' play set up in the dinette.

I might take this idea to our current rig. Awesome job!

You may even be able to rig something up so you don't need to take the bins down when on the road. Even if it's a tension rod, that would be even more convenient.

What length screws did you use for mounting?

They were 3/4" or 1" screws that came with the brackets. I forgot to add that I added small brass L shaped brackets under the left front and back right for a bit more strength. This idea is not a weight bearing shelf. Mostly a place put dish towels, snacks, etc.

Thanks! I've been nervous drilling into the walls for fear of 1. not hitting a stud and 2. going all the way through. Can't complain about command strips for hanging pictures and the like though!
