Inverter/BMPro

I recently purchase a 2024 Jayco Eagle 355MBQS. I want to add an inverter as the unit is CPAP prep’d. I easily figured out the wiring on the plugs that would be backed up by the inverter. My BMPRO has a selection in the Energy Center that give you data from the inverter and allow you to turn it on or off from there. I have been unable to get advice from my dealer,BMPRO or Jayco what inverter is compatible. I could purchase one that has a separate console and install it next to the BMPRO but that is not my preference. Can any of you advise me? I would certain appreciate it. GlenS

You would need a BmPro compatible inverter with RV-C data connection. Probably need the information from BmPro or find an inverter with RV-C and ask the inverter manufacturer if it's compatible with the BmPro.

Yes Sir, I spoke with a rep at Go-power supposedly the company that made my solar panel about a model GP-ISW3000 and he mentioned the a RVC-adapter but he did encourage it. He sad it would be a very complicated install. I have been trying to research that item.

The '22 North Point comes with an RV-C GoPower inverter but for whatever reason is not connected as such. They installed the standalone control panel rather than connecting it to the BMPro.

I have been looking at new videos of the Jayco 5th wheels on YouTube, it appears in 2023 and later the PD1600 inverters are connected to the BmPro via the RV-C connector only. So I tried to connect my inverter and figure out how to update this for us.

I got the proper connector and soldered the pins on...took a couple of tries to get this perfect so they would slide in place properly in the housing:

Verified the High and Low Canbus (RV-C) in my RV:

Tapped into the "trunk line" with a drop:

Enabled RV-C inverter in the BmPro options:

And nothing

Anything I Missed? cycled power a few times and it would never see the PD1600

Here is a picture I grabbed on the internet of the latest configuration...they are only using the Can HI and Can LO ports on the PD1600

Now that I think about it, the inverter control page never loaded up after selecting the option in the settings. Maybe on my Model year the BmPro node doesn't have the proper hardware/software to recognize the inverter.

This page never came up...should have loaded after selecting the option:

Thanks for the pictures and your data. I have ordered my inverter that is RV-C capable. It is scheduled to arrive next week. I’ll try following your lead and let you know my results. I had talked to technical service at Jayco am she said to call if I ran into any issues and she could talk me through it. Keep in touch please. I want to make this work!

Attached is the help guide on how to change the configuration in the BmPro.

I would be curious to know if you turn on the option for Inverter RV-C at this time does it show up on the energy page...connected or not? Because I can't get it to display.

After you press confirm...it takes a couple of minutes for the system to restart.

Mine currently has a status of: Not Connected: and had the fault insignia with the screwdriver and wrench. It has been that way since I purchased it. I will swing by tomorrow and check the configuration in the BMPro. I am also expecting my inverter to come in tomorrow or a Tuesday as well. I’ll report back.

That is what I was afraid of in my case...I can't get the app to show anything for the Inverter...I think my Hardware/Node is not capable...even though the app has the selection for it in the configuration.

Learjet

I confirmed my configuration selection is Inverter RV-C as well. I’m hoping to get my inverter installed this weekend and I’ll let you know if it communicates.

Thanks for the update.

I don't get that screen when I select the inverter option. Must be something in the older nodes.

Keep us posted!

I've been chatting with BmPro tech support...they don't understand either why the inverter page will not display on my unit.

ok...Final update for my issue and anyone trying to integrate or add an RV-C inverter to earlier Jayco units using the BmPro for monitoring and control of the inverter.

Here is the final answer from BmPro:

"The JAYCOMMAND node you have does not support the RVC inverters. The Master uC (firmware version) 2.10.0 which is the highest that version of node can go and that firmware does not support RVC inverters. "
