Mu Progressive Industries EMS install
Lots of discussion about surge suppressors lately so I thought I'd post my 50A hard-wire EMS. The rear wall of the basement is removed and you are looking aft at the area just under the stairway.

Nice. I just bought a portable 50a Progressive last week to replace the TRC that was hot by lightning.

I should have hard wired mine. I may sell my portable and do that, looks to be plenty of room.

Our 351 has lots of room behind the back basement wall. But I'd check first, then buy.
I needed a chunk of heavy wire to complete the install. Don't remember the guage but found it at one of the big box stores ( by the foot). I didn't shorten the original feed in case I needed to restore to original.
I'm a fan of Progressive.

That's a really slick location and you did a great job on that installation. I'll be checking that out when we pick up our new rig here soon.

Wow, I envy you for all the space for the install. My 33.5 RETS had barely enough room behind the inverter/converter to place the unit. Mine was installed by the dealer. In fact, it is going back to the dealer because it is putting so much back pressure against the inverter, it has pushed it out from the bottom. It is going to need re-working to get everything in its right place. It is also a 50 amp unit so really stiff wire.

I just installed my Progressive Industries hard wired in our 2105 Jayco Eagle 284BHBE. It was a far easier install than my old Jayco Eagle. The new Eagle had the incoming power cord coming into the storage area under the full size rear bed. I was able get all the way inside the storage area, remove the 4x4 junction box and replace it with the Progressive EMU.
This was the first upgrade to our new Eagle, the second being Maxx Aire II covers.
