underneath storage ideas

My 2013 198RD only has one door to the underneath storage compartment. there could be a door on the other side, but they just didn't put one in that year model.
so, I need ideas on storage so I can get to stuff..........ideas??? I am tired of crawling in that little door to reach stuff. ha!
or if I can add a door on the other side, that would solve all this.

A family we camp with a lot was in the same situation as you are. He couldn’t make up his mind to make it pass thru storage or not. He finally bit the bullet. But make sure you crawl in your storage if you can to make sure you have plenty of room for the size of door you choose!

We use the Rubbermaid style tubs that contain related items and use a pole or broomstick with a hook to reach them when there are some stacked behind the other.

yes, currently using the "pole and plastic tub" method. just kind of a pain.

the person who installed a door, did they do it themselves, or have dealer do it?

Yes he did. He drilled a hole where the center of the opening would be then marked it out from that. Pretty easy if you have a jig saw and tin snips

I have the rubbermaid tubs also in our pass through storage. I made long rope handles to pull the tubs out. (4 tubs, 2 front, 2 back with ropes to pull) I just push them back with the tub in front. I made sure the rope was long enough to reach from the access door. (passenger side) On the driverside, I have a long slide drawer that I removed from a trade in camp trailer that we had. It reaches just short of center of the pass through storage. Look to Pinterest for pickup bed storage drawers for ideas to modify to work.

I made two racks that I mounted under the trailer next to the stabilizer jacks. Each rack extends across the trailer and holds 8 treated 4x6 blocks about 10" long.

I attached cabinet pull handles to one end of the blocks and use a collapsible awing rod to extract the blocks.

I used 1/8 aluminum angle from Home Depot for the racks added a hinge and door to each end to hold blocks in.

I have a 23RLSW and it is pretty high. Most of the time I use 4 blocks for each stabilizer. Keeps from having to extend the jacks very far and this increases the stability some.

Pole and tub method for stuff in the back of my truck under the tonneau cover. I bought an aluminum collapsable boat hook at a marine store.
