Upgrade to girard tankless water heater

Hello all,

I recently purchase a tankless water heater for my 2004 jayco 24.5 rbs after finding a crack in my old 6 gal tank. I got the the old tank removed and when going to install ran into some changes with the wiring. The girard runs off 12 volt power, not the 120 volt, so my problem is I have 4 wires that hang and not sure which go to the two on the water heater, one positive and one negative, anybody successfully install one in their tt?

Thanks in advance,
Troy

I hope you don't boondock a lot because you may end up hating the new tankless. I absolutely hated my tankless and swapped in the opposite direction, installing a tank model. The Girard tankless never got hot enough, showers were a nightmare, and it wastes a lot of water waiting for it to come on. Many people like tankless but I am not one of them.

As I remember, when I pulled the Girard there were 4 wires. Two went to the remote control panel and the other two were 12 volt power (12v + and ground).

You will not need any 120 volt hookup for the tankless.

I have attached the manual from my Girard tankless which should give you an idea on operation. Had to split the manual in half due to upload size limitations for this forum.
