Any Skylark owners??

Just found and bought a 2011 Skylark, never heard of them before wife found one on Facebook. We were trying to down size from a 28 foot TT but didn't want same old 20' TT's. So snapped up the Skylark as soon as we found it. At first I thought it was a Buick.

So, anyone else on this forum have one? We'd like to find out how you like it or not. Also some advice as to what problems to expect would be nice. I had never ever seen one till two days ago.

I am not, thought they looked very interesting but could not find one to even look at in my area.

Try the search function on the gold bar above and put in Skylark. 11 pages of comments, some related to your question.

Good luck and happy camping!

Bought ours new in 2010fkv. We love it. Only problem is our overhead cabinet hinges seem to be too strong for the doors and rip out

Had that happen on cheap, compressed sawdust doors in bath and replaced with bolts and lock nuts.

We purchased a 2011 Skylark 21FKV new and we are still using it. We really like our camper. We found we needed a sway bar to avoid the side push from passing big trucks. We made a few modifications.

I added:
Octopus style towel hangers on the back of the bathroom door and the left side of the kitchen cabinet.

A roller catch on the medicine cabinet to prevent the door from opening while traveling.

Made a divider for the top drawer in the kitchen cabinet to keep silverware organized.

A LED push button 12 volt light in the storage compartment.

A paper towel roll holder under the left hand cabinet in the kitchen

We found some plastic storage containers that stack nicely in the over head storage cabinets for holding clothing, towels etc.

Stick on exterior levels to make set up easier.

Plastic tote to hold the sewer drain pipe as our rhino hose won't fit in the compartment that came with the trailer.

A wired pancake fan in the fridge to improve air circulation and cooling.

A remote reading thermometer to monitor the fridge temp and outside trailer temp.

We purchased some hanging "Hot air balloons" on swivels to hang from the awning struts to prevent head banging for taller people when the awning is open.

We bought some open top plastic storage crates to hold canned goods in the lower kitchen cabinets so they remain accessible.

Modified the Banquet seat in front of the bed with a lift up door to take advantage of the wasted space under there for storage.

Beefed up the flimsy skids at the back of the trailer with some heavy duty ones.

Bought a 2011 Skylark FKV used about 5 yrs ago. It's a perfect size for a couple, except the bed. Kinda narrow, but the length is OK. Added several mods, better sink in kitchen, udercabinet led lighting with dimmer, turbo fan in bathroom, etc. Also added backup lighting and storage lights, and a pullout drawer to storage compartment.
