Dirt in water pump cabinet

Just got back from a great trip along the Colorado River (near Kremmling) and discovered the inside of the cabinet that houses the water pump completely covered in dirt. Yes, we were driving down some dusty dirt roads and it appears it entered thru the top of the fresh water tank opening. Does anyone know if this is a warranty repair (2011 model) or has encountered the problem? Any info or help would be appreciated!

I don't understand what you mean by "the water tank opening". It would have to have come in through some opening in that compartment to the outside. I would vacuum the space, look for any openings to the outside, seal as needed and move on.

Sorry, I should have referenced the square cut-out in the floor where the vent and supply hose to the water pump attach to the tank. This appears to be the source of dirt entering, but still need to further investigate. One would think Jayco would have a gasket between the floor and top of tank to prevent infitration of dirt, critters etc. I'm really looking for a best fix to this problem. Thanks!

I saw the gap in that square cut-out on our 21M the first day we had it.
I stuffed firm foam rubber all around the opening from the inside. Works great.

I would imagine that you could get the dealer to do some type of warranty work on it, but depends on how much of a hassle it is for you to take it down there. I would think a few shots of expanding foam would do the trick - which I would bet is what he does.

if you use the expanding foam ... USE THE LOW EXPANDING TYPE.. the high expanding type may do damage to your tank... we did this to a door frame and even tho the sides were left open it moved the frame enough to wedge the door shut and we had to get a knife out and dig the stuff out...

Just curious why I don't see any dirt on top of the tank itself.Was there a cover over the the opening that's not in the picture? Hardly any dirt on the hose either. this is not dust left over from cutting the opening in the floor board at the factory is it?
