Dumb question...

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but, i must have nodded off during this portion of the PDI last summer. Do the emergency windows open up to allow fresh air in? Or does the window fall out when you push the handle. Jayco 184BH

Most if not all emergency windows are hinged at the top and can be opened for ventilation. The screen on the window is also an indicator of functionality.

I noticed the screen and wondered about it. I didn't want to chance opening the window, the bar/handle that opens the window seems pretty stiff. Perhaps the window seal is a bit sticky too. Gonna try this weekend in my driveway, just incase the window falls out. Lol

We open ours all the time on our 184BH. Especially the one up front that is right by the bed. For us it is right above our heads so we can open it in the middle of the night without getting out of bed.

We open ours quite frequently as well. The only thing I don't like about ours is that it's either all the way open or all the way closed because of the way the support works. Most of the time it's not a problem, but it is a limitation.

Also, ours has a piano hinge all the way across the top, so I'm not worried about it falling out...

How exactly do you get it open? I was trying to do this as well.

Mine has a bar across the bottom with a red handle. You lift the red handle slightly, rotate it out toward you, then push straight out. The handle has a perch it sits on that holds the window open.

They can be tough to open especially if you don't open them often. They tend to have a vacuum like seal when closed. Don't be afraid to put a little muscle in it but remember the latch or handle is not very sturdy.

Yup, when that happens to mine, I just give the glass a GENTLE tap with the butt of my hand near the edge, and it pops right open. That handle isn't going to stand much force without bending...
