I’m hoping I can get some input from some of you friendly folks on using an SUV to tow a TT. Any comments, suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Are there any mods I should have done to the GMC to begin towing, it already has the tow package so I feel pretty comfortable. I’m declining the 5 yr extended warranty I feel that the $2500 price should cover most if not all my repairs for the next 5 years. It comes with 1 Solar Panel and I’m considering adding a second as well as a lithium battery are there any other upgrades I should consider? Thanks for any input, it’s greatly appreciated.

Hello and WELCOME to the Jayco group. I hope your new camper rises to your expectations. I don't know much about your particular SUV and towing, but I can say I too said "No thanks' to any extended warranty. I know that getting warranty service inside your warranty period comes with challenges from the dealer/Jayco, so why would I pay more money for more headache? I throttled my expectations prior to my purchase, did my best to understand the industry, its shortcomings and exactly what I was 'buying into.' I educated myself on the experiences of those who came before me and decided early on; if there's a problems that I can fix, then I'm gonna fix them myself. Only the big $$ problems is where I'll drag it back to the dealer and fight for the warranty service. We all know anything outside the basic warranty period will be challenged. I decided to save myself and not subscribe to any of that agitation.
I bought a new 2022 22rb back in October. It was a leftover, so I negotiated a nice price on it. It has a great floorpan and all the room I could need for just me and my daughter. I will only use it in the spring/summer/fall at state parks and local campgrounds here in CT or nearby MA or RI.
This is my first travel trailer. I used a pop-up for several years and enjoyed our time at the beach, but knew after a few years, we needed a more substantial dwelling, for comfort.
I hope your new MML works out for you. I've seen some of the new Winnebago units. They're really nice and they are coming up with some interesting and creative floorpan options!
