Planning to remove bunk beds in Swift 184BH

Empty nesters here. Our sons quickly outgrew the bunks (they and I are over 6' tall), so the bunks in our 2011 Swift 184BH quickly became obsolete. Over the last few years they have become an inconvenient, inaccessible storage area. I want to remove them and replace them with something more functional, perhaps shallow storage shelves. I have scoured posts and do not see where anyone else has attempted this, so if you have, your input would be greatly appreciated.

Set my 184bh to travel solo. Removed half the upper bunk and converted the remaining half bunk to storage. Went through the bathroom wall into a smaller box that rests on the half bunk for bathroom storage cabinet. Added drawers under the lower bunk for easier access to that storage. Also put two drawers - one silverware, one knives and misc.- in the bottom of the closet. An idea for you could be to remove both bunks and make an "office" with a desk, chair and overhead storage. It would be tight, but do-able. Having trouble posting pics so if you want more info, send a private message.
