A maddening leak (and the simple answer)
I had a string of troubles stopping a leak from a swivel connection on a "silencing hose" that attached to the water pump. The hose, swivel connectors, and washers were new but would not stop leaking.
I replaced the new black rubber washers with other new ones I got at my RV dealer. The new ones were "Saniprene Swivel Seals, 1/2 inch" and were a very light tan color. They immediately stopped the leaking. The new washers were softer and more pliable than the black washers. Also, much less leaky. And the only type I will ever use again.
