Brake removal on slide motor
I'm sure this has to have been brought up somewhere already. I couldn't find it in a search, so please feel free to redirect me if I just missed where this is already covered.
I had a motor on the kitchen slide of my 377RLBH refuse to work. After removing the motor, it seemed jammed. Thinking something is likely in the gears the way it would move the motor a small amount before seizing, I took it apart. It seems the issue is with the brake being locked on. The only way I could free it up was to remove the brake entirely. Without the brake in the housing, the motor and gears seem to work well in both directions. (Not considering the turn counter and controller of course.)
Has anyone had to do this before? And if so, how much use can I expect to get out of this? As we head into warmer weather soon I want to know if I should be able to expect it to manage for a while, or if this is likely not going to last more than a couple of extensions/retractions at best. Nobody seems to stock the motor locally, and the parts printed label numbers don't match the parts online, so I'm not expecting a couple of weeks to good parts in hand.
