Coleman RV Thermostat?

After reading a ton of threads on replacing the Coleman mach analog thermostat I still have a question.

It seems a lot of folks are using this model or the white model.

Is there a direct replacement that also has a backlit display?

When looking around I found other thermostats but wasn't sure if they would work as a direct replacement or could run the A/C but not the heater. Some folks have said they get the A/C to work but not the heater.

If you use a home thermostat, you lose the hi/low fan speed option if that matters to you. If you want that option, you have to add an external switch. I tried a home thermostat (Honeywell) and added a switch but the effort was in vain. I could not get the heat function to work and it tripped a breaker at the furnace (which is a PIA to get at). I just installed the RV Comfort thermostat today but didn't notice if it is backlit.

Thanks for info Iraqvet05. I'm not the electrical guru I wish I was so I'm going to order the RV comfort thermostat as I know that's a direct drop in unless I'm able to find something with a backlit that is also a direct replacement.

No backlight option just like the analog thermostat you'd be replacing...

will this work with a two wire, heat only system. Literally there are only two wires and surface is wood so not grounded there. Tested, 12 volts across the wires.

I did this mod last year and it makes a big difference. It is not backlit. It does allow high/low fan setting and it does allow you to run the fan only without AC. It's really nice knowing the exact temperature and not having big temp swings.

I bought that one, could not figure which terminal to wire it, called Honeywell and they said will not work with 2 wire 12 volt system.

How did you wire it and do you have a 12 volt system. Which furnace and RV do you have it on?
thanks!
